Born and raised in the tough inner-city (Lafayette Projects), anything that could happen to someone in that environment happened to Willie “The BAM” Johnson. However, he beat the odds through the guidance of Martial Arts and mentorship.
Through this scholarship program, Mr. Johnson would like to help others defeat the odds just as he did. The martial arts scholarship program is designed to offer less fortunate kids an opportunity to train with one of the best schools in the country. We at “The BAM’S” know the true benefits of the martial arts and how valuable it can be to anyone looking to better themselves. The tools we’ve developed through our dedication to the arts will give any child or young adult the courage to say no to unhealthy situations, avoid danger, and stand firm amidst difficult times when confronted with negative peer pressure and life challenges.
